COMMON QUESTIONS:

DO I GET TO PICK MY OWN PUPPY? Yes, you will get to choose the color and sex you prefer. And, we will guide you to the puppy that is best suited to your family and lifestyle.

DO I NEED TO PLACE A HOLDING FEE WITH THE BREEDER TO RESERVE A PUPPY? Yes, I require a $200.00 non-refundable holding fee.

WHEN MUST I SEND MY HOLDING FEE? Once the application is approved.

WHAT HAPPENS IF I CHANGE MY MIND, AND DO NOT WISH TO TAKE THE PUPPY. IS THE DEPOSIT REFUNDABLE? No

WHY IS MY HOLDING FEE FORFEITED? Because the breeder has turned away 10 or more people to sell the puppy to you. We do not keep an ongoing list once pups are reserved.

ARE THERE ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE? Yes. In the case that the breeder can not provide you with a puppy of your choice of color & sex. The full holding fee is returned.

WHAT DO I DO WITH THE PUPPY/ADULT DOG IF AFTER I TAKE IT HOME OR SOMETIME IN THE FUTURE, I FIND I CANNOT OR DO NOT WANT TO KEEP HIM/HER. It must be returned "only" to the breeder at the new owners expense.

ARE THERE ANY EXCEPTIONS TO THIS POLICY? Yes. If the new owners find a home for the puppy/adult dog and it is approved by Downs Lake Kennel. Downs Lake Kennel has the "first right of refusal".

WILL I GET TO MEET THE PARENTS OF THE PUPPY? Yes. The sire and dam are on the premises.

DOES "Downs Lake Kennel" OFFER ANY SUPPORT AFTER THE SALE OF THEIR PUPPIES? Yes, Yes, Yes. We are only an email or phone call away.

WHAT ELSE IS PROVIDED WITH THE PUPPY?

Vaccination: First in the series of 3-4.
Wormings: 3 times before going home.
Health Guarantee: 1 year for hips and eyes.
AKC Registration Application
Starter pack of puppy food.
Vaccination & worming records and suggested vaccination schedule into adulthood.
Bells for your door knob to let you know when the puppy needs to go outside.
Leash and Collar
Small Blanket with the scent of the litter and mom.

WHEN DO I GET TO TAKE MY PUPPY HOME? At 8 weeks old. If he/she is to be shipped, a minimum of 8 1/2 weeks old.

I WANT OUR PUPPIES TO GO TO "LOVING HOMES" THAT OFFER A "SAFE AND HEALTHY" ENVIRONMENT.
